Today, on the 12th of November 2018, it has been sadly announced that Stan Lee has passed away at the age of 95. As a movie fan and a fan of Marvel for many years, this has hit me hard. Stan Lee is one of the biggest influences in the world, both in terms of comics and film. His passion and love for his creations and universe were clear, and it was obvious that there was something special.
Stan Lee is the legend behind Marvel. Whether that is all the way back to the 30s when the comic books were first being developed, all the way up to today where a connected universe has been assembled between film, TV, video games, comic books, action figures and so much more.
Stan Lee gave us a universe full of superheroes ready to save us whenever we needed saving. He gave us a world that we could escape to at any moment, and heroes that could resemble each and every one of us. But ultimately, he was the hero in all of this. He was the person that saved many people, and the person that brought millions of people all across the world together with a love for superheroes and comic books.
With Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 on the way, it is going to make his last cameos all the more emotional to witness on the big screen.
Rest in Peace Stan Lee, and thank you for everything you did.
