Road to Endgame: My Top Five Marvel Films

Avengers: Endgame is a product of 21 films by Marvel Studios, and all of them have been at least entertaining. However, they have created some masterpieces, and fans have been debating on which one is simply the best. In this blog post, I will be listing my top five MCU films going into Avengers: Endgame. Without further ado, here is my top five.

1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
This to me is the definitive comic book film. What worked so well about this film was the balance of a spy espionage thriller with the standard comic book film. This film was loaded with iconic actions sequences, great development of character and a clean story that had a clear resolution. This is easily the strongest film in the MCU, and I do not see them making a film that tops this.

2. Captain America: The First Avenger
I know many people do not actually like this film, but I adore this. From the opening sequences of skinny and weak Steve trying to fight and protect his people, to the World War II aspects, I felt this film had a lot of heart and fully captured what Captain America is about.

3. Captain America: Civil War
I guess you have figured now that I love Captain America. There is something about what he stand for and his heroism that just appeals to me. I saw Civil War at a midnight screening, as well as five times overall in cinema. I think this film handled the amount of characters better than in Infinity War, and the story felt cleaner and I had more fun watching Civil War.

4. The Avengers
This is the film that started it all for me, the first film that I watched from the MCU. This is still a fantastic film that gives goosebumps whenever that 360 degree shot comes on screen. I loved the battle sequences and finally seeing how they managed to get all of the Avengers to team up. This is a film that will just get better on every new watch.

5. Guardians of the Galaxy
The most refreshing and fun film released by the MCU, James Gunn opened the general audience up to a new batch of heroes with this film. I had certainly never heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy before the film was released, but it was such a good move to bring them to the cinematic universe. The stylistic choices in this film, alongside the incredible soundtrack, only help make this a unique experience that I keep coming back to.

Do you agree with my list? Are you as big of a Cap fan as I am, or do you prefer hits such as Captain Marvel and Thor: Ragnarok? Let me know in the comments below, we are only five days away from seeing Avengers: Endgame.
