April Wrap Up

April has been a very successful month for me. Aside from only having one piece of coursework due, I have managed to dedicate more time to films and this blog. You can expect this to continue throughout summer, but now it is time to look through the past month and see how I did.

Out of my usual four goals, I managed to get two completed. However, I did not come far off from completing my other two goals, as you will see down below.

1. Write 15 blog posts this month. My blog has been going very well as of right now, and I managed to write 17 blog posts in total this month. Whilst most of which was simply leading up to Avengers: Endgame, I also had some fun challenges and great film reviews done and I have more lined up for May.

2. Watch 20 films this month. I got so close to completing this, but I ended up getting to 19 films this month. Out of them, I had a few repeat viewings as well (with Avengers: Endgame up to four showings as of right now).

3. Get up to season four of Game of Thrones. I just managed to achieve this, finishing up season four on the last day of the month. This means that I am exactly on track to finish the show just in time for the final episode, and I hope that I manage to keep this up.

4. Watch both John Wick and John Wick 2. I have now watched the first John Wick film, and I did very much enjoy it. However, due to trying to catch up with Game of Thrones and with so many films this month, I still need to check out John Wick 2 before the third film is released this month.

Out of the 19 films I saw in April, only nine of them were new films. Whilst the month got off to a rocky start, this month had a great list of both cinema releases and catching up on films from previous years. I have also seen the two films that are likely to battle it out for the top spot in my Best Of list for 2019, in both Eighth Grade and Avengers: Endgame. These are the first two films to get a perfect score from me this year, and they are so different that I already know it is going to be hard for me to decide which one is best.

In terms of my blog this month, I am happy with the content that I have been releasing, and I have seen that pay off come through. The coolest part of the month occurred on the last night of the month, where the one and only Seth Rogen tweeted me back about my review. How cool is that! My favourite blog post of the month is the “Film YouTubers Who Inspired Me” blog post, where I talked about and shared the people who have inspired me and encouraged you to follow and support them. There is nothing better than supporting the community, whether it is in written form or visual form like YouTube.

May is going to be a busy film month for me, especially since I finally wrap up my first year of university and have few shifts at work for this month. With many more re-watches of Avengers: Endgame to come, alongside viewings of Rocketman, Aladdin, John Wick: Chapter 3 and Ma to go and review and the previous films I still need to review for the month of April, expect a busy month on here.

How has your April gone? Have you been busy this month with studies or work, or have you been able to succeed in your blogs or film-watching? What is your favourite film that you watched this month? Let’s have a discussion in the comments section down below.
