Film For Thought’s Top Films of the Decade

I got into film-watching quite late this season, only becoming dedicated to the film industry in 2016. However, I decided that instead of creating a strict list of my top films of the decade (which I have already done on Filmotomy), I would instead list off my top two films of every year. Some of these picks are more entertaining than technically strong, but these are my favourite films of those particular years.

DISCLAIMER: Due to making the placements easier on me, the films are placed in the year that they first premiered anywhere in the world, not the UK release date.

Enjoy the list!

1. The Social Network
2. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

1. The Cabin in the Woods
2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two

1. Silver Linings Playbook
2. The Avengers

1. 12 Years a Slave
2. Now You See Me

1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
2. Whiplash

1. The Martian
2. Inside Out

1. La La Land
2. Sing Street

1. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
2. The Disaster Artist

1. A Star is Born
2. Eighth Grade

1. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
2. Joker

What do you make of my choices? Which year had the best for films? Let me know all of your thoughts in the comments section and let’s have a discussion.
