It may come as a shock to some of you, but I have only seen two of David Fincher’s films: Zodiac and The Social Network. I have loved both of these films, but I have not had the time to go back and catch up with the rest of this filmography. This is what this series is for.
Today, I launch The Fincher Files. Many podcasters and bloggers I admire, from Movie Reviews in 20Qs, The Movie Journey Podcast and InSession Film, have all done their David Fincher series recently in celebration of his latest film, Mank, releasing on Netflix on December 4th.
This series will officially start on Saturday 14th, with an Ultimate Choice dedicated to his filmography. Afterwards, I will not be sticking to a strict schedule, but the series has planned out so I have a film to watch every second day before the release of Mank. I will be skipping Alien 3 from this list, but all of his other directorial work will be watched and fully reviewed. After every film, including Mank, has been watched I will be ranking them.
I hope you are excited to come on this journey with me. Do you also plan on watching Fincher’s filmography with me? Let me know in the comments section and look out for Saturday’s post, where you will find out what my fellow film critics’ favourite Fincher film is (spoiler alert: there is a clear winner this edition).
